Yes, all 3 of us squeezed into 1 school bus seat!
Such a beautiful setting.

We look a little wild because it was pitch black and the flash was blindingly bright!

We went to see Brandi Carlile perform at the Portland Zoo. It was a gorgeous warm evening, the weather really couldn't have been more perfect. We barely wiggled our way into a small grassy patch, but we did and that's what counts! We were just a bit snugglier which was just fine. Brandi Carlile put on an amazing perfomance, a highlight was when she covered Johnny Cash's 'Folsom Prison Blues' because it allowed me to add Zane into my fun night even tho he was 3,000 miles away sleeping...(He adores Johnny Cash in case somebody doesn't know this) Anywho, we people watched and giggled and sang along like crazy people... a very memorable evening indeed. We also took notes... we were totally surrounded by professional 'picnic-ers' who brought all these amazing salads and sandwhiches and cupcakes... and we brought... nothing. We were so bummed, haha, but we did steal some of Ash's elephant ear which by the way you should never sneeze near because it makes a wild mess of the cinnamon and sugar but we laughed hysterically.

"Home is not where you live, but where you are understood." -Christian Morgenstern
Such an inspiring place to walk around.
The day was cool and overcast... oh so cozy, just how I like it!
Mmm... Anthony's at Pier 66... we got a platter of salmon, cod, calamari and shrimp and of course clam chowder! I miss the fresh seafood so much!

When we decided to get off the bus and start wandering we discovered this cute coffee shop... so we grabbed some hot chocolate and read The Stranger.
Stylistically, it was both earthy and exotic; a really cool combination.

Zane trying out Seattle's public transportation system for the first time!
Nay Nay & I...we spent hours just talking and laughing over coffee remembering how much alike we are, and how funny the boys in our life are!
I'm so proud of my Grampa and Gramma for being good sports and trying Thai food for their first time!
A classic; Grampa cooking breakfast on his stool...sausage and the best fried eggs in town!
My wonderful Gramma Foster on our way home to eat donuts together!

HOME
As the flight crew came over the loudspeaker to announce we would be making our descent into Seattle I was overcome with this feeling of comfort that I was home; it's a wonderful reality and i'm grateful.

La Hacienda

(MOST) of our wonderful little meeting...

Leala hosted "game-night" at her place in Port Orange friday night for all the young professing kids in the area. There were 10 of us including little Cira! We had a BBQ with tons of yummy contributions from everyone... Then we played a few rounds of Apples to Apples, a new game for me so that was lots of fun. Leala kicked our butts tho!
We had dinner at La Hacienda later Saturday evening, our last meal together with all of Bruce and Zoe's family and Narque before everyone leaves... Bruce & Zoe are off to Texas, Evan is off to Tampa and Narque is off to Iraq! Such big changes!
Sunday after meeting we had a potluck for Bruce and Zoe's family before they leave at the end of the month!
