Crawdad cook-out

The kids & I got some sno-cones down the street.  Bubble gum, wedding cake & pink lemonade with gummi bears.
Crawdads leaving their mark on the side of the road.
Mike prepared a proper Louisiana crawdad feast for us.  Tasty!

  1. Dad and I have been into the Hawaiian Shave Ice lately...but you were braveeeeee, who got the wedding cake flavor...I've seen that one, but it just doesn't sound very good...guess I'm more into tradition! ha ha like cherry, rainbow, tutti-frutti, etc. it's so good and refreshing on these hot days! Dad likes to get a scoop of vanilla icecream at the bottom of his! OK, must admit, the crawdads look festive and cool and southern-like, but what did they taste like? Was it good? I'm not so sure I would of been as gung-ho to try them, yeah, I'd of tried them...but theres like a gazillion of them...maybe because they don't have much meat on 'em!

  4. mom- the guy gave me a free sample of wedding cake- too sweet for me, but basically it taste like almond- which is my fave latte flavor. lame that starbucks stopped carrying it! & lamer still that palm coast seems to be anti-coffee shops. would love to try to ice cream with shave ice someday... didn't have enough change this time tho;) the crawdads were... interesting. i'm glad i got to experience it. cos it is definitely An Experience. It's texture & taste is not all that different than shrimp in my opinion... but their was still some poop in them- (like the vein in the shrimp) & i couldn't get my mind over that matter, so i didn't partake too much. not easy to shell either.
