A few months ago we'd decided that this was not going to be another lonely Florida Christmas, so we said, "hey dude, let's totally skip town!!!"
So we tossed around a lot of ideas & asked for the time off from work in the meantime. It was no small miracle to get word that we'd been granted Christmas off from all of our jobs (OMG! meant to be!)
We settled on New York & quickly scoured budget travel reservation sites for plane rides & hotels. We found the ones we wanted via Holiday Inn & Priceline (two close friends of ours), and we told everyone that we would be going to NY for Christmas.
Oops...! turns out we jumped the gun. This all happened before we knew about our house plans & also most recently about our darling dog Junebug.
So... we've re-thought it & we're going to DRIVE to Atlanta (save lots of bucks that way) & it's somewhere that's been on our list for a long time anyway.
Plus what really secured it for us was Priceline's promise to let us out of our hotel reservation just in case something came up & we won't get penalized. ANNND, most importantly...
