Day 2

Day two's are always more organized with us.  We decided to take an informative trolley tour to 'get our bearings.' We were so turned around & didn't know which was up + we wanted to learn more about KW.
When the tour finished we found lunch by default- mostly because it was the closest place we could dash into when the rain started coming down in buckets.  And then it cleared... so we sat down by the water and watched the fishies.  Then we meandered home for an afternoon rest.
-ENTER NAP-TIME-
Multiple people had told us to go to the top of La Concha Hotel because after 3pm it's open to the public & you get 360 degree views from the highest point in KW.  So we did. Then we walked around some more & found a wire artist & he did our 'portraits' yes- out of wire. Meanwhile two kids- 9&12 years old were performing next to him on the street & they were amazing... then Patrick the wire artist told us to go to Mr. Z's for a good cheesesteak. We weren't disappointed.  Locals are the best.  We walked by a sign that read:
“You are here.

N 24˚ 34.3
W 81˚ 45.7
    This is paradise.”
And it was.  3 whole days away from being dependent on clocks, alarms, phones & cars.  Exactly what our hearts had desired.

  1. Wow...have loved going through all your pictures of Key West. You really captured so many aspects of KW and glad you included people, places and things! Really helps to visualize your time. Looks like you had a grand time and that you accomplished what you set out to do...see Key West, and have some true R & R. Now you can mark that off your "bucket list". Love all the pictures.

  2. Okay I'm thinking maybe a new career idea for you is to be a writer/picture taker for travelling books and such.. LOVE all your artsy photos and descriptions of your trip to Key west.. and I'm kinda in love with the sign that Says you Are here and the lat/longitude. I want that for my future house.< I hope that future house is somewhere in Tahiti too...but anyway..moving on>
