Miami Lakes was a good find as a means to split the drive up between home & Key West. In case you didn't already know, Florida is super duper long, so even tho where we call home is considered 'central florida' (to be fair, we are on the northern extreme of those parameters), but still, we put in a good eight-hour drive to find the most southern tip of our state just to give some perspective.
We were amused on our way out of town to drive by a cow pasture in the middle of 'miami-suburbia.' It neighbored a CVS & a Sun Trust Bank- now that is some expensive grass!
We both agreed it felt like we were 'cheating' on Gabe & Jessie. Almost exactly a year ago we were here in Miami, all of us for the first time, making the best memories together. It didn't feel right to be there without them. We texted them & revowed Mexico to each other soon! ;-)
