he has lost his ever lovin mind.

to know zane is to know his love & adoration of daschunds. 

we aren't big on "life plans" but one thing we have talked about is having two little dogs someday that we'd name johnny & june after the "greatest musician of all time & his lover" according to zane.

so zane has been "secretly shopping" for weeks for a daschund and/or doxie mix at all the local animal shelters in our county & the two neighboring counties to the north & south.  well come to find out st. augustine was hosting a "Doxie Days" event at the fairgrounds for rescued daschund & doxie breeds today.  you can guess who hung out at the fairgrounds all afternoon?  & who showed up at my job with the biggest of smiles plastered on his face explaining himself.... ??

he finds not one, but two.  enter flo & rufio, their given names.  "if you have to take one for a walk, you might as well take two for a walk.  plus they need a buddy."  his explanation to me. 

flo is a 9.5 year old girl who was abandoned for a new puppy by her owner of 8-years.  poor thing had a hernia a month ago.

and rufio is a two-year-old boy named after the leader of the lost boys from hook.  rufio is described by his current "foster mom" as being an old man in a little man's body.  the first one to bed & the last one up & loves to snuggle.  hmmm...sound like anyone you all know?

we had to give references & we are to have a "home visit" to make sure our home is suitable for being a "forever home" for flo & rufio.  they take this very seriously.

zane just called papa phil & announced that he was going to be a grandpa.  as mentioned above, he has lost his ever lovin mind. 

i have never seen him so giddy.

maybe my boobs will get a rest?
